Giorgi advances to MGA amateur championship
Red Wing's Mark Giorgi advanced to the 106th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship by earning co-medalist honors at the local qualifying event.
Red Wing's Mark Giorgi advanced to the 106th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship by earning co-medalist honors at the local qualifying event.
The championship will be held July 20 and 21 at the Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights.
Giorgi shot a 3-over-par 74 at The Bridges Golf Club in Winona to earn one of six qualifying spots Thursday.
Lake City's Alex Wallerich won a two-hole playoff to be the first alternate after carding a 79. Fellow Lake City resident Travis Heitman also competed.
