Q. I understand that you can rent the new Central Park band shell. Will this generate money for the city?
Q. I understand that you can rent the new Central Park band shell. Will this generate money for the city? Will public concerts then cost money to attend?
A. The city will dedicate the band shell with a free community concert July 4. (See the letter to the editor from John Howe published on this page.)
Starting later in the month, people may reserve the facility for private events just as people can rent picnic shelters and the Colvill Courtyard.
The cost to reserve the band shell is $40 for four hours or less or $60 for more than four hours, according to the city’s June issue of the Current.
