To the Editor:

Some additional comments need to be added to your recent editorial on Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-E, June 4).

His unspoken but obvious plan to run for president brings to mind all of the many weeks that he was absent from his duties last year, while campaigning for John McCain.

I don’t recall him reimbursing the state.

It is obvious that most of his remaining 18 months will be spent in Iowa and states other than Minnesota, as well as traveling overseas for the “benefit” of Minnesotans.

On the one hand, if he is not on the job he can’t make such a mess out of it.

On the other, we will have Lt. Gov. Carol Molnau as acting governor, which would be an unmitigated disaster.

How is that for a dilemma?
