The Klaas-Jonas Community Swimming Pool Committee outlined four options to School Board members Monday.
The Klaas-Jonas Community Swimming Pool Committee outlined four options to School Board members Monday: eliminate the pool, continue the current arrangement under a new dome, close the pool from December through February, or build a permanent structure over the pool, with the option to add a fitness center.
Committee members don't recommend closure. The consensus of those present Monday showed favoring eventual construction of the permanent shell.
In other news, Ellsworth School District will receive about $370,000 for special education from the federal stimulus package. Nearly $101,000 will help fund staffing, about $41,000 will go toward computer networking, and some money may go for making bathrooms handicapped accessible.
