A local bar could receive a liquor license violation after police entered the establishment early Sunday.

An officer on patrol at 1:39 a.m. saw people outside Kelly's Bar, 1530 Old W. Main St. The officer went inside, where he reportedly found more people.

Police Chief Tim Sletten said it appeared Kelly's doesn't have a 2 a.m. liquor license and should have been closed for business by 1:30 a.m. Sletten said the case is being forwarded to Goodhue County prosecutors. City Hall was also notified, he said.
