WANAMINGO — The KoMets took control of the game by scoring five runs in the fifth inning to go ahead 6-0. The Knights walked three batters that inning and they all came in to score.

In his third varsity game, K-W freshman Peder Sviggum was 3-for-3 with a double and a run. Senior Ryan Overby scored the Knights other run and was 2-for-2.

K-W finished with 10 hits, the same number as K-M.

"They put their hits together and we couldn't get our big hits with guys on base," Knights coach Randy Hockinson said.

The Knights (3-16 overall, 3-13 HVL) open Section 1A West Tournament play at 5 p.m. Tuesday. K-W, the No. 7 seed, plays No. 2 Hayfield at Riverland Community College in Albert Lea, Minn.
