BYRON, Minn. - The Knights took an early lead with a run in the first, but the Bears responded with 10 unanswered runs to key the route.
Seventh-grader Kailee Berquam took the loss for K-W, allowing 11 earned runs on 13 hits in 5 2/3 innings. She walked four and struck out two.
"They hit a lot of balls hard," K-W coach Matt Nelson said. Sometimes she throws too many strikes and they line her up."
Nicole Lubahn and Alyssa Way both finished 2-for-3 for the Knights. One of Way's hits was a centimeter away from a home run, according to Nelson.
K-W finishes the regular season 4-15 overall and 2-10 in the HVL. It received the No. 6 seed in the Section 1A Tournament and travels Thursday to play No. 3 Waterville-Elysian-Morristown at Austin.
