One person was displaced Saturday after a Red Wing home caught fire.
Red Wing firefighters were called at 11:04 a.m. to the Daniel Syverson residence, 525 Centennial St. The fire, which appeared to have started in the kitchen, was confined to the main level of the home, firefighters said. The house sustained smoke damage, but minimal structural damage, according to the fire department. Nearby homes were not damaged.
Nineteen firefighters were on the scene for about two hours. The displaced resident is receiving clothing, food and shelter assistance from the Goodhue County Red Cross.
