Cecil Belisle, 8, owes his mother a big Mother's Day present after the golf advice she gave him Thursday.
The Belisle family, who live near Red Wing Golf Club, were hitting the links Thursday when Cecil asked his mother what club he should use on the sixth hole, a par three. Diane Belisle reminded her son that he overshot his last drive on the hole.
Cecil wisely chose his three-wood.
"We all saw the ball go into the hole," Diane said. "We were all screaming and then some of the neighbors came out of the house to take pictures. Cecil just stood there with his mouth open. He couldn't believe it."
He'd just hit the first hole-in-one of his young career.
His father, Mike Belisle, said it was a beautiful fade shot that everyone knew was going to land close to the hole, but when it landed the ball just kept rolling, right into the cup.
Cecil's shot came on the heels of an excellent shot by his brother, Fritz Belisle, one that had landed six feet from the hole
