NEW PRAGUE, Minn. — Red Wing junior Alex Fuentes made his varsity debut a success Tuesday against the Trojans. He rolled to a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Kam Manthe in No. 4 singles to highlight the sweep.

"It was nice to let him play in the match and have him get a win," Red Wing coach Kris Klassen said.

It was easily the closest match of the day as the Wingers had little trouble with the Missota Conference cellar dweller.

Bryant Blahnik claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles and George Gabrielson won by an identical count at No. 2. Isaac Wyland won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

The combos of Connor Burke/Patrick McNeil, Dylan Gorman/Quinn O'Leary and Tyler Johnson/Cole Caswell breezed to victories on the doubles side. Gorman and O'Leary won 6-0, 6-0 and the three squads combined to drop just three games.

Red Wing improves to 13-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play. They travel Thursday to Hutchinson.

"I was looking for a little over .500 this year," Klassen said. "To be 13-4, I'm really pleased."
