Viola A. Larson, 90, of Pepin, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Ellsworth Care Center.
Viola A. Larson, 90, of Pepin, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Ellsworth Care Center. She was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Red Wing, Minn., daughter of Arthur and Edith Trafton Benson. She graduated from Red Wing High School.
On Oct. 1, 1955, she married Lawrence W. Larson. They farmed together in rural Pepin. Following the death of Lawrence in 1970, Viola went to work as a CNA at the Red Wing Care Center.
Viola was a member of the Lund Mission Covenant Church and an active member of the woman's group at the church. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Survived by daughter, Diane (Mark) Westerberg of Stockholm, Wis.; granddaughters, Joelle and Sarah Westerberg of Stockholm, Wis.; sisters, Gladys Kruger of Dubuque, Iowa, Goldie Veith of River Falls, Wis., Rosetta Wright of Northfield, Minn.; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Edith Benson; husband, Lawrence Larson; brother, Harold Benson; sisters, Dorothy Fladhammer, Evelyn Kinneman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Lund Mission Covenant Church in Lund, Wis., with Pastor Greg Satterberg officiating. Burial will be in the Marie Lund Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family.
