City officials finalize contract with witness

Red Wing city officials finalized a contract with Dr. Gordon R. Thompson Thursday, in which Thompson will be paid $15,000 to be an expert witness for the city.

Thompson will testify on the city’s behalf before the Public Utilities Commission when Xcel Energy requests permission to build more dry-caste nuclear storage at its Prairie Island nuclear plant.
