Rita Allhiser, 71, resident of Goodhue, died Thursday morning, April 9, 2009 peacefully surrounded by family in her residence.

Rita Allhiser, 71, resident of Goodhue, died Thursday morning, April 9, 2009 peacefully surrounded by family in her residence.

Rita was born October 18, 1937, the daughter of Francis Gerald and Mary Agnes (Cronin) Ryan in Red Wing.

Rita married Leroy Allhiser on November 12, 1955 at St. Columbkill Catholic Church in Goodhue. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was active with the CCW. She was also a member of the Lionesses in Goodhue. Rita enjoyed fishing, history, traveling and St. Patrick’s Day. She loved visiting relatives and friends.

Rita is lovingly survived by her husband of 53 years Leroy; her children Mary Rose (Mike) Mann of Goodhue, Jean (Tony) Vieths of Goodhue, Terry Kehren of Red Wing, Gayle (Allyn) Turner of Seattle, WA, Larry Allhiser of Goodhue and Susie (Brad) Ringeisen of Cannon Falls; her 15 grandchildren Paul (Sarah) Mann, Michelle (Travis) Goodman, Andy (Mary) Mann, John Vieths, Sheila (Shawn) Poston, Sabrina Vieths, Tara (Brock) Marklevits, Angel Kehren, Ashley McQuisten, Amanda Turner, Jeff Turner, Tyler, Ryan, Adam and Kelli Ringeisen; 7 great grandchildren; her brother Leo (Maxine) Ryan and a sister-in-law Delores Ryan all of Goodhue.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers James “Red” and Gerald “Sug” Ryan.

Visitation will be Sunday April 12, 2009 from 4 to 8 pm at St. Columbkill Catholic Church, 36483 County 47 Blvd., Goodhue and 1 hour prior to Mass.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday April 13, 2009 at 10:30 am.

Interment at St. Columbkill Catholic Cemetery, Goodhue. Casketbearers will be her seven grandsons, Paul Mann, Andy Mann, John Vieths, Jeff Turner, Tyler, Ryan and Adam Ringeisen. Honorary casketbearers will be his 8 granddaughters, Michelle Goodman, Sheila Poston, Sabrina Vieths, Tara Marklevits, Angel Kehren, Ashley McQuisten, Amanda Turner and Kelli Ringeisen.

Arrangements by Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls.
