Glenn Oscar Ottem, 74, of Red Wing

Glenn Oscar Ottem, 74, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at the Red Wing Health Center. He was born Oct. 13, 1934, to Oscar and Julia (Friese) Ottem. He was born and raised in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing High School in 1952. He then went to work at Red Wing Shoe Company where he worked for 42 years. He married Helen Nelson on March 19, 1955, at Bethel Covenant in Ellsworth, Wis.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Steve Ottem of Red Wing and Jay Ottem of Red Wing; daughter Deanna (Steve) Stellrecht of Welch; and four grandchildren, Kaela, Korbyne, Kamryn, and Keaton. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marlys Longsdorf; and infant brother Kenneth Sterling Ottem.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with Lynne Rigg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
