Mount Frontenac Golf Course Restaurant has hired Russell Baldwin as Food and Beverage Manager and Banquet Coordinator in an effort to improve and expand customer satisfaction.
Baldwin will oversee all food and beverage operations and positions, said Dan Diggins, Mount Frontenac manager. Diggins said Baldwin will be charged with ensuring that everything goes smoothly and everyone is happy.
Formerly employed with US Foods, Baldwin isn't new to Mount Frontenac. He's already employed part-time overseeing special events like weddings and reunions. And regular customers perhaps best know him for his Thursday night pasta bar.
"One of the things we do really well is the 'Build Your Own Pasta Bar,'" Baldwin said. "Everything is ready, including fresh baked breads, to build your own pasta - just the way you like it. We started out doing pasta bar once a month and it has been so popular, we will be doing it every Thursday evening this season."
Baldwin doesn't hold a culinary degree, but does have over 25 years experience in the food industry. He added he's been privileged to learn from accomplished chefs such as Phillip Reed.
"I love the creative side of cooking, the stretching out of new idea's," he said. "There's an immediate gratification when you do really good work and the customers let you know they are happy.
Baldwin currently lives in Lake City with wife, Amanda, and two daughters, Mary and Margaret. He was born in Gary Indiana.
