Jeanne Marie Pearson, 86, of Red Wing, died March 15, 2009, at St. Brigid's Hi-Park Nursing Home.
Jeanne Marie Pearson, 86, of Red Wing, died March 15, 2009, at St. Brigid's Hi-Park Nursing Home.
She was born June 22, 1922, to Frank and Myrtle Rehder Laughlin. On Feb. 1, 1947, she married Richard Bancroft Pearson in Red Wing.
She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1940 and was employed at the Republican Eagle as a reporter for 10 years in the 1940s.
She was a member of the Women's Group and a Sunday school teacher at Christ Episcopal Church, a volunteer at the Goodhue County History Center for 50 years, and a volunteer with the Red Cross Bloodmobile for over 60 years. She was a lifelong promoter of her hometown, Red Wing.
She is survived by one son, Rick (Lynette) Pearson of Red Wing; her grandchildren, Rachel (Chris) Marshall of Red Wing, Rebecca (Blake) Thompson of St. Louis Park, Drew Pearson of Minneapolis; two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Annabelle Marshall of Red Wing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Pearson.
According to her wishes, private funeral services will be held at a later date with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
