Soap Box Players say it again: ‘Loves Me Not’
“Loves Me Not,” an original adult comedy written by Michelle Meyer and Min Martin Oakes, is coming back to Hobgoblin Music. The play, which premiered there last year in the Music Loft, will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 30-31 and Feb. 5-7.
The Soap Box Players production again is directed by Meyer.
“It’s a little bit different, but the bulk of it is the same,” she said.
The script has been tweaked to enhance the comedy aspects of the stories, which focus on “love gone wrong.”
The vignettes are based on actual events. “Only the names have been changed to protect the guilty,” according to publicity for the show.
Many of the same cast members return, Meyer said.
The men will be played by Greg Nixon, Jeff Chalmers, David Oakes and Jesse Stewart. Playing the female roles will be Colleen Austin, Emily Seefeldt, Helene Olson Reed, Sandi Nelson, Susan Kinyon, and new this year — Min Martin Oakes.
The play lasts about one hour. Elegant desserts from Smokey Row Cafe will be available.
Tickets are $7 for seniors and students 16 and older; $9 for adults. The play is not recommended for anyone under 16.
For reservations, visit Hobgoblin Music at 920 Highway 19 or call (651) 388-8400.
