Pepin Hometown Holiday Nov. 28

On Friday, November 28, the day after Thanksgiving, join us at 6:30 p.m. for the lighting of the Holiday Christmas Tree next to the Bank of Alma on Second Street. We will have a bonfire, caroling accompanied by Dave Zahn and his trumpet, and hot cider.

The public is invited to several events in the Village of Pepin during the upcoming holiday season.

On Friday, November 28, the day after Thanksgiving, join us at 6:30 p.m. for the lighting of the Holiday Christmas Tree next to the Bank of Alma on Second Street. We will have a bonfire, caroling accompanied by Dave Zahn and his trumpet, and hot cider.

Also on Friday November 28, the Lake Pepin Art & Design Center, (LAPDC) will have an opening reception for the Members’ Holiday Show and Sale from 5:30-7:30 pm. At 8:00 the LAPDC will host a concert of live local music, including Patchouli, The Ditch Lilies and the Trapper Schoepp Band.

Our Hometown Holiday Weekend is December 5-7. On Friday, Dec 5, Santa will be at the Bank of Alma in Pepin from 3:30-5 p.m. The Latanés will host a cookie decorating activity at their shop from 3:30-6 p.m.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, St. Nick will be in town and there will be horse drawn wagon rides from 11-4, the Lutheran Church will have their cookie walk at 9:00, the Methodist Church will have a bazaar at 9:00, BNOX will have a glass blowing demonstration from 10-5, the Latanés will host the decorated cookie contest from 10-6, the LAPDC will have a Christmas decoration making workshop from 10-12, the trebuchet fruitcake toss will be at 1:00, and the LAPDC will host a ballet recital at 3 p.m. There will be great shopping at Pepin’s stores, and shoppers can play the new, Explore and Discover Pepin Game to win prizes.

The evening will end with a fireball flinging with the trebuchet at 6:00 at the corner of Lake and Hwy 35, and the screening of the Christmas Classic It’s a Wonderful Life, at 7 p.m.

Shops will also be open Sunday, Dec. 7, with in-store activities and specials.
