Hilary "Larry" Mahoney, 75, of Rochester, died Friday at Madonna Towers Health Care.
Hilary "Larry" Mahoney, 75, of Rochester, died Friday at Madonna Towers Health Care. Born Oct. 4, 1932 in Bellechester, he graduated from Goodhue High School. He married Margaret Goihl on June 23, 1956, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City.
@death of veteran: He was in the Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. Following service, he attended Minnesota School of Business and studied accounting. He then worked for different car dealerships in accounting and later Ability Building Center for 30 years in accounting. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 92 and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.
@Normal: Survivors include his wife, Margaret; children Mary (Nick) Poleschuk, Coleen (Mike) O'Connell, Patricia (Richard) Kuiper, all of Rochester, and Daniel (Denise) of Waconia, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; siblings Maureen Mahoney of Owatonna, Minn., Peg (Dick) Baringer of Hastings, Donna Prigge of Hastings and Diane (Dean) Opsahl of Goodhue. He was preceded in death by one brother and parents
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Pius Catholic Church in Rochester with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to Lourdes High School, Madonna Towers or the church.
