Fairview surgery phase completed

Fairview Red Wing Medical Center has completed the second phase of its new surgical clinic construction project.

Fairview Red Wing Medical Center has completed the second phase of its new surgical clinic construction project. Patients with appointments in any surgical specialty will be able to use the lower entrance. This includes appointments for audiology, ear, nose and throat; general surgery; ophthalmology; optometry; orthopedics; podiatry; and urology.

Surgical clinic patients no longer need to check in on the main level. All the check in and registration is located at the new entrance on the lower level with adjacent parking.

"This is the second phase opening now, with more construction scheduled through November to totally renovate our surgery clinic and procedure areas to better meet the needs of our patients,” said Scott Wordelman, president and CEO of Fairview Red Wing Health Services.

The surgical services center now has five operating rooms, up from three before the construction, and 22 private rooms for same day surgery, up from 12 same-day rooms.
