Ronald Lund, 82, Wanamingo

Ronald Lund, 82, Wanamingo, died Thursday at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Born on June 17, 1926, to William and Dora (Davidson) Lund in Roscoe Township, he attended country school at Roscoe Center and graduated from Wanamingo High School.

@death of veteran: He joined the Navy and, following his honorable discharge, attended Augsburg College where he studied business. He worked in Mound, Minn., in heating and air conditioning. On Aug. 27, 1950, he married Shirley Syverson in Wanamingo. They moved to Mound then to Wanamingo in 1951. In 1958, they moved to Holmen, Wis., and returned to Wanamingo in 1961. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Holmen and Wanamingo Lions Clubs, the Zumbrota Post 183 of the American Legion and the Wanamingo Honors Squad. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards and traveling.

@Normal: Survivors include his wife, Shirley; daughters, Jeri (Kevin) Ryan, of Wanamingo, Barbi (Marv) Farmer, of Northfield, Minn., Wendy (Gary) Teigen, of Andover, Minn., and Teri of Zumbrota; one son, Rahn (Ann) of Rochester; 13 grandchildren: and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine, and one brother, William.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo, with the Rev. Byron Meline officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Dean Cocker, Chris Smedsrud, Shane Farmer, Reid Teigen, Mitch Ryan, Alex Peterson and Jordan Ryan. Honorary casketbearers will be his remaining grandchildren: Dave Farmer, Brenda Donovan, Karin Smedsrud, Tricia Smedsrud, Johana Teigen, Ali Ryan and Whitney Ryan. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on today at Mahn Family Funeral Home Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour before services at the church.
