Corn on the Corner is just around the corner.
This year's annual event will actually be more like Corn on the Block, since this year it will take up the entire block of Bush Street from Third to Fourth streets downtown, said Vicki Riester of Riester Refrigeration, who is chairing the event.
It begins at 5 p.m. Thursday and continues until all the corn is gone, she said.
But there will be a bit more to chew on than corn. The event also will offer brats, soda, cotton candy, ice cream and popcorn. Live music will be provided by Acoustic Mayhem. Yes and Yes, the pro-referendum group, will have a table with information on school issues.
Corn on the Corner is one of several annual fundraisers sponsored by Red Wing Downtown Main Street. The group also participates in the Father's Day Car Show and Girl's Night Out, and sponsors the Holiday Stroll to kick off the Christmas season. Money raised supports Downtown Main Street.
