Letter: Numerous dunkings help fight MS

To the Editor:

I loved the article in Saturday’s R-E. It was fantastic coverage of both the dunk tank and all the River City Days activities Friday night.

In regards to the dunk tank, it was being run by Mary’s Red Winged Angels, a friends and family team raising funds for the three-day, 50-mile MS Challenge Walk and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Minnesota.

We had so many requests from people to sit in the dunk tank — kids dunking kids, parents dunking kids, etc. — we opened it up to anyone could sit in tank and monies would go to the MS Society.

Part of the weekend the dunk tank was manned by Red Wing cheerleaders to raise funds for their trip to London. Also, Miss Red Wing and her Princesses took their turn to help “Dunk MS.”

Throughout the weekend Ryan Gerdes and many others help raise $425. Monies raised will go to provide services and programs for people living with multiple sclerosis and research to create a world free of MS.

Thank you for your great coverage.
