Letter; Quality education affects us all
I wish to rally support for the upcoming referendum.By: Tom Brown, Red Wing, The Republican Eagle
To the Editor:
I wish to rally support for the upcoming referendum. Children are our most precious asset; it's up to us to send them forward with all the tools we can muster on their behalf.
The ability of our schools to deliver a quality education affects all of us in ways we may not realize. That ability affects the value of our homes by attracting business to our community. More business equals more jobs. More jobs create demand for housing. Increased demand for housing creates an increase in the value of your home.
As business owners consider various locations for their expansion, they ask about the supply of capable, educated workers.
As families ponder their moves to Red Wing, the most asked question is this: "What can you tell me about your schools?" The reply has been made with pride and I know some of that pride comes from those who have supported past referendums.
It takes a village to raise a child; but it also takes a child to raise a village.
Support the referendum and vote Yes, Yes.
