Monitoring available for home care clients
Fairview Red Wing Home Care has a new service available for home care clients called Telehealth monitoring.
Fairview Red Wing Home Care has a new service available for home care clients called Telehealth monitoring. It's a small unit installed in a patient's home that monitors blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels and weight. A nurse is available daily to review results and will call the patient if an abnormality is found, said Nancy Thies, clinical liaison for Fairview Red Wing Home Care and Hospice. If needed, a nurse will visit and a doctor is alerted.
"With the use of Telehealth, a patient's vital signs are monitored more closely, which helps them to remain safely at home," Thies said.
