Mary “Hazel” Bartlett, 81, Red Wing, died Thursday

Mary “Hazel” Bartlett, 81, Red Wing, died Thursday at her home. She was born Aug. 18, 1926 in Barron, Wis. to Joseph and Sadie (Kavanaugh) Castonia. After graduating from Barron high school, she married Gale Bartlett on Nov. 26, 1947. They lived in Rice Lake before moving to Red Wing in 1977. She worked at the Seminary Home, and retired in 1990. She continued to volunteer there, and helped with administering communion to shut-ins. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph.

She is survived by four children, Gayle (David) Hallstrom of Hudson, Wisc., Michael (Nancy) Bartlett of Westfield, Wisc., Katie (Arden) Campbell of Black River Falls, Wisc. and Steve (Diane) Bartlett of Bay City, Wisc.; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 brothers.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the Catholic Charities. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
