Several county bridges included in federal bridge funding bill Three Goodhue County bridges, including two in Red Wing, were among projects approved last week by the U.S. House.

Under the bill passed Thursday, the Mississippi River bridge connecting Red Wing and Hager City and the bridge across Nymphara Lane would be eligible for federal funding. The measure also includes two Highway 61 bridges, one over Gilbert Creek in Lake City and the Hastings bridge over the Mississsippi.

The bill authorizes $1 billion in new funding for structurally deficient bridges in the national highway system. The measure will next be taken up in the Senate.
