State officials are seeking to fill two open judgeships in First District Court.
The Commission on Judicial Selection announced last week that applications are being accepted for a vacancy left by First District Court Judge William Thuet, who retired June 30. The first district includes Goodhue County, where Thuet sometimes presided.
The other vacancy occurred after First District Court Judge Jean Davies died in March. Gov. Tim Pawlenty will appoint the new judges after commissioners have narrowed the list of applicants.
Licensed Minnesota attorneys who are First District residents can apply by calling John Hultquist at (651) 296-0019. Applications are being accepted until Aug. 12.
