Hove looks to expand recycling
The City Council approved a conditional-use permit Monday allowing Hove Enterprises to operate its recycling operation at 4960 Moundview Drive. Dean Hove, a council member and owner of Hove Enterprises, recused himself from the council’s discussion and decision.
Hove Enterprises’ recycling business disposes of used appliances. Its operations and storage would be contained within a building and roll-off trailers.
New band shell gets thumbs-up
The City Council on Monday accepted an offer from the Jones Family Foundation to build a new band shell in Red Wing’s Central Park.
City rental licenses extended
The City Council approved a measure Monday that will extend the life of rental licenses from three years to five years. City officials hope the extension will give them time to inspect all of the city’s rental housing.
It has been unable to do so because some local landlords and renters are challenging the city’s rental housing code in court. The case is ongoing.
