Man critical after one-car crash

A Rochester man was in critical condition this morning following a one-car crash Monday night on Highway 52 near Zumbrota.
A vehicle driven by Edward Dere, 49, drifted into the median, went back across both lanes of traffic then into a ditch where it hit two trees, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Dere was taken to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was unresponsive at the scene and at the hospital, authorities said.
Dere was wearing his seat belt and no alcohol was detected in his system, according to authorities.
