For the second year, Youth Outreach of Red Wing and the Environmental Learning Center are teaming up for the Red Wing River Duck Rally. The event will follow the River City Days parade Aug. 3 at Bay Point Park.

The ducks, which sell for $5 each, can be purchased at the Red Wing Pottery Salesroom and Randy’s Restaurant. They are also available from Youth Outreach and ELC staff members, plus individuals will be selling them at the local farmer’s market and at some Red Wing Aces baseball games.

Proceeds from the sale of ducks benefit at-risk kids.

Owners of the winning ducks will receive a variety of prizes:

First place - $1,500; second - a Wenonah canoe; third - a Trek bicycle; and the last-place Lame Duck - a Water Park of America party pass. There also will be three “Pluck a Duck” winners, who each will receive a pair of Vasque boots from Red Wing Shoe Co.

Last River City Days more then 3,000 ducks floated from the marina entrance to the flagpole in Bay Point Park. Sponsors hope to sell 5,000 ducks this year.
