To the Editor:

On behalf of League of Women Voters Red Wing, I wish to thank the voters and other interested citizens who attended last week’s Ward 2 candidates’ meet-and-greet event.

This is also a reminder to Ward 2 voters to vote at your precinct from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 8. If you have a question about your polling place, contact the city of Red Wing clerk’s office at (651) 385-3600.

Since this election is being held right after the Fourth of July holiday, voters who are going to be out of town on election day can vote with an absentee ballot. These are available at the City Clerk’s office now and up to and including July 7. The office will also be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 5. Every election is an opportunity to exercise your right as a citizen to vote for the representative of your choice.

There are four candidates for the Ward 2 council seat in this special election, so let’s have a good turnout July 8.
