Mary K. Hahn, 86, of Mason City, Iowa, formerly of Pine Island, died Thursday at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.
Mary K. Hahn, 86, of Mason City, Iowa, formerly of Pine Island, died Thursday at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. Born Nov. 12, 1921, in Vermillion, Minn., to Mathew and Mary (Kiemen) Loesch, she grew up in Vermillion and graduated from Farmington High School in 1940. On Nov. 4, 1942, she married Dale V. Hahn in Farmington, Minn. They made their home in several different communities in Iowa until settling in Pine Island in 1959. She worked at the Rainbow Cafe and Miller’s Clothing Store. In 1980 they moved to Mason City, where they lived there until moving to Mountain Lake, Ark. They lived in Mountain Lake from June 1986 to April 1987. He died April 26, 1987, and she moved to Mason City. She worked for Newman Catholic Daycare for nine years and was a demonstrator at Cash Wise Foods for four years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary, both in Mason City. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and baking.
Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia (Harvey) Aadahl of Zumbrota; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. She was was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; son, Colin; two sisters and five brothers.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pine Island Cemetery with the Rev. Timothy Dolan officiating. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mason City. Local arrangements are being handled by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel in Pine Island.
