Letter: Enough tax hikes, Wollschlager

To the Editor:

According to the nonpartisan Taxpayers League of Minnesota, Rep. Sandy Wollschlager scored a zero this past session. She consistently voted for a bigger government budget and a smaller family budget for you. Wollschlager’s zero rating was identical to her radically liberal big city leaders.

She never once wavered while voting for the largest tax increases in Minnesota history, raising the gas tax, sales tax and vehicle registration tax, while creating a whole new level of government in the metro area to spend millions on unnecessary transit boondoggles that your family budget will be forced to subsidize every year it is in operation. In one bill alone, she voted for wasteful pork projects that would spend hundreds of millions on local arenas, hockey rinks, parks and trails, but failed to fund state priorities such as roads and bridges.

She voted for a bill that drained $500 million from the state’s budget reserve while reducing spending by only $268 million. She refused to oppose a bill whose property tax “reform” provision would have - according to the Minnesota Revenue Department - amounted to a tax increase for 69 percent of Minnesotans.

Wollschlager’s attack on your family’s budget would contain a list that is far too long for a single letter to the editor.

Would you help Wollschlager get her priorities in order? Call her at (651) 296-8635.
