Norman Clarence Meyer, 76, of Red Wing, died Monday at his home.
Norman Clarence Meyer, 76, of Red Wing, died Monday at his home. Born Nov. 16, 1931, in Lake City, the son of Clarence and Anna (Brock) Meyer, he attended one-room country schools in Florence Township. The family moved to a farm in Welch in the early 1950s, where he farmed with his dad. He married Elizabeth Johnson on March 12, 1958, in Frontenac. They moved to Red Wing in 1959, and he worked for Riedell's from 1959 to 1998. He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting Red Wing Pottery.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Robert (Johanna) of Rochester, and Richard (Barbara) of Prescott; two daughters, Mary (Phillip) Scafidi of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Rose (Tom) Poss of Lake City; seven grandchildren; one sister, Marvel Holden of Red Wing; two brothers, Harold of Miesville and Loyd "Bucky" of Red Wing and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin.
Funeral will be 2 p. m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with the Rev. Karen Pahl officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
