Lake City Medical Center and the Lake City Rotary Club are sponsoring a 5K fun run/walk June 29 as a fundraising event for Project Pink.

The project’s focus is breast cancer awareness and prevention, and securing financial support to purchase a digital mammography machine.

The 5K will start at 8 a.m. on the corner of Emerald Lake and Clubhouse Drive at the Jewel Golf Club. Fees are $25 for those who register prior to June 13, $10 for children 12 and younger and $30 for those who register after June 13 or on the day of the event.

Registration forms are available online at www.lcmcdevelopment.org or by calling (651) 345-6707.

The 5K is one of several fundraisers for Project Pink, which kicked off in March. Organizers hope to raise about $300,000. About a third of that amount has been raised.
