To the Editor:

A bright new voice, committed to municipal government is being heard in Red Wing and in particular in the Second Ward. So if you have heard “Do you know a Lisa Bayley?” or “Do you know who this Lisa Bayley is?” this is an opportunity to acquaint you with the Lisa Bayley I know.

I met her quite some time before she chose to make Red Wing her permanent home. She knew a lot about our city since she is a Rochester native. Lisa and her husband, Doug, spent many times visiting his relatives in Red Wing. They had wanted to move here for years. When a change in their careers presented itself, they made the move to establish permanent roots in our city for themselves and their two elementary school age children.

Bayley believes the future of Red Wing is through long-lasting economic development, promoting new businesses and sustaining current commerce. We all understand a strong economy makes for a strong populace, which in turn embraces new and active residents.

Bayley, bright, pragmatic and experienced believes in government that is open and calls for public involvement. Citizens in Ward 2 have an unusual opportunity to vote for a strong, responsible City Council member to represent them and all of Red Wing at the special election Tuesday July 8. Take time to visit with and read about Lisa Bayley. You’ll be glad you did.
