To the Editor:
People volunteered, walked or sponsored walkers in New Beginnings Pregnancy Center’s Walk for Life May 17 at Riverside Park (Cannon Falls) and Bay Point Park (Red Wing). Everyone had a good time at both, and we raised about $9,000.
We especially appreciate the churches, businesses, and individuals in the Cannon Valley and Red Wing who “put feet to their faith” by making the time and effort to be there.
Our goal at New Beginnings Pregnancy Center is to provide caring support for women in crisis through pregnancy testing, counseling, education, and material/relationship/spiritual help.
People’s participation in this ministry has shown that their hands are open wide to those who find themselves in a very vulnerable and often desperate situation, giving them positive and life-affirming choices.
If you would still like to help our clients in any way such through volunteering or financial/material means, let us know at (651) 388-9141 or (507) 263-7900. Your actions can truly mean a New Beginning for someone.
The Rev. Jay Christianson is executive director of New Beginnings Pregnancy Centers in Cannon Falls and Red Wing.
