A plea deal reached between attorneys could mean two years in jail and treatment for a Goodhue man who admitted sexually abusing juvenile females.
According to court records, John Jeremy Hahn pleaded guilty on May 1 to
first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct. The felony charges carry a combined maximum penalty of 55 years in prison.
But prosecutors say a prison sentence will be stayed if an evaluation determines Hahn, 19, is better suited for sex offender treatment and probation. Under the agreement, Hahn would serve up to 30 years on probation, along with the jail term.
According to victim statements included in the criminal complaints, Hahn sexually abused two female juveniles over a period of several years. He admitted to authorities that one of the victims was as young as 8 years old when the abuse began.
The allegations came to light after one of the victims told a youth pastor about the abuse. Hahn, a relative of the victims, was arrested in February.
Among the accusations were claims that Hahn bribed one victim with money in exchange for sex acts.
He is scheduled for sentencing on June 20.
