Letter: Join nation in singing the anthem

To the Editor:
A recent Garrison Keillor column has prompted me to take action on one of the items on my “Bucket List.”
On Memorial Day - and every other national holiday, athletic and school event - when we rise for the national anthem, I challenge everyone to join the singing vigorously.
It is our people’s anthem, not our national solo. And we can make that music soar! (Especially if it is in the Key of G so not only coloraturas and contra-tenors get to sing the second section).
Let your voice, together with your fellow citizens’, young and old, echo “oer the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
