Evelyn Aileen (Schulte) Cannon of Ellsworth died following a 6-year battle with cancer, on Dec. 20, at her daughter's home in Apple Valley, Minn.

Evelyn Aileen (Schulte) Cannon of Ellsworth died following a 6-year battle with cancer, on Dec. 20, at her daughter's home in Apple Valley, Minn.

She was born on Feb. 17, 1926, in Trimbelle Township, to Frederick and Alice Schulte. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1944. She went to work as a banker in Ellsworth after graduation. She married Edward Cannon on Aug. 5, 1947, in Ellsworth.

She enjoyed bowling and loved to volunteer. She enjoyed walking throughout Ellsworth with her friends. She was a Brownie Girl Scout leader. Evelyn will be missed at the Friday night fish fries and Rod and Gun chicken feed.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (David) Stark of Balsam Lake, Wis., Sheri (Kenton) Coulson of Apple Valley, Minn., and Kelly (Tim) Laurie of Eden Prairie, Minn.; brother Donald Lee Schulte of Altoona, Wis.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; and brother Harold.

A memorial service for Evelyn will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Hill Funeral Home in Ellsworth. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held at St. Francis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 8441 Wayzata Boulevard, Suite 340, Golden Valley, MN 55426.
