Red Wing police on Wednesday identified a suicide victim whose fatal gunshot drew a high-profile response by law enforcement.

The victim, Leonard Miller, 43, 1011 S. Park St., died Tuesday of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Since the gunshot was heard but not witnessed, police on the scene called in the Goodhue County Emergency Response Team, which patrolled the neighborhood with tactical gear and assault rifles for more than an hour. Police said no one else was harmed in the incident.
