A sixth person was indicted last week in connection with the January shooting death of Luis Orlando Galicia Mijangos.

Janae Vonch, 1935 Launa Ave., appeared in court March 21 after a Goodhue County grand jury indicted her of aiding an offender by obstructing a murder investigation.

Goodhue County Attorney Stephen Betcher said the 20-year-old drove another suspect, Erika Sanchez, to St. Paul, where the two allegedly disposed of a handgun suspected of being used in the Red Wing homicide.

Vonch and 23-year-old Joseph Perkins are the only two indicted by the grand jury who do not face life in prison if convicted in the murder. If convicted, Vonch — who was released on her own recognizance — could spend 20 years behind bars.

Mijangos died after being found Jan. 20 inside a car with a gunshot wound to the chest. Authorities claim Marvin Todd Griffith shot Mijangos during a drug robbery.

Griffith and Sanchez were scheduled to appear in court today.
