Saturday will be spring break time when ArtReach puts on a Beach Bash to raise money to support the community arts organization’s programs.
The party will run from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in the Hobgoblin Music Loft on the top floor of the old gray barn, which is on Highway 19 just off Highway 61 in rural Red Wing.
At the Beach Bash there will be live music for dancing, performed by Stained Glass, a local band including Craig Lunde, Ken Cunningham, George Snyder and Laan Dommer.
Sue Awes, the new ArtReach director, said the beach atmosphere will include cutout figures where people can insert their faces and pose for fun photos, and contests such as the “Limbo” and hula-hoop.
Food will be served, including pulled pork sandwiches, and there will be a cash bar.
Many supporters of the ArtReach mission have donated items for a silent auction. Awes said it will feature local artwork, jewelry by Nancy McKay, a Chap Achen photo, gift baskets and certificates, an opportunity for Benji Achen’s help with home design, and more.
Admission to the fundraiser is $30. Tickets are available at ArtReach; call (651) 388-4488.
