Wabasha County Relay for Life to host organizational meeting

The American Cancer Society is inviting anyone who wants to honor cancer survivors and caregivers or pay tribute to those who have lost their battle with cancer to join its Relay for Life. The kickoff will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church, 419 West Lyon Ave., Lake City.

Relay for Life is a community effort where individuals and teams camp out, barbecue, dance and take turns walking around a track relay style to raise funds to fight cancer. Relay for Life will start at 4 p.m. Aug. 2 and continue until 7 a.m. Aug. 3 at Patton Park in Lake City. “Camping for a Cure” will be this year’s theme.
