Letter: Veteran likes cartoon, gets point

To the Editor:

I just want you to know that I really like Craig Livingstone’s cartoons. I don’t always agree with them, but they sure get me to think.

On the Steve Murphy cartoon Jan. 19 that Michael Anderson’s letter addressed (R-E, Jan. 23), we really need to be aware that our government is slowly eroding our American rights every day and that our elected officials (need term limits) need to be concerned about running the government and not our daily lives. Every time they say something, it seems to cost me more of my freedom and money that I have earned.

Please keep up the good work.

P.S. I am a retired Navy veteran and this cartoon did not offend me. I actually understood the point of it.

I don’t like the use of “all vets” as stated in the headline. We only have one thing in common.
