STOCKHOLM — Poet John Graber of Stockholm will offer a short form of his “Writing and Repair of Poetry” workshop on four Sundays during February. Sessions will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24 at Calvary Covenant Church on Second Street. Participants will learn how to fix what isn’t working in their writing through discussion of weekly worksheets about their poems.

A free introductory session for new and prospective students will be at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 3 prior to the first session. Cost for “A Month of Sundays” is $65. It is being presented by the Lake Pepin Art & Design Center of Pepin.

Graber, who holds degrees from St. Olaf College and the Iowa Writers Workshop, has lived in Stockholm since 1978. He has taught grade school, high school and college English and creative writing. More than 50 of his poems have been published in magazines including The American Poetry Review, Christian Century, The Great River Review, Wisconsin Review and The Madison Review.

Last year his poetry was featured in three issues of The Journal of the American Medical Association; he’s interested in developing ways of using poetry in the mental health community.

Two of his collections were published in 2007, “Only on This Planet” and “Walking Home.”
