The parking lots at the Pierce County fairgrounds were already jammed full by the early afternoon as the 129th Pierce County 4-H Fair officially opened Thursday.

Cars were already being parked on the side streets outside the fairgrounds despite the cool and cloudy weather and chances for rain, a rarity this summer.

Some pre-fair judging already took place Wednesday but the fair officially began today as animal exhibits were entered and judging in the round barn took place as well. The fair carnival also opened this morning too.

The 4-H All County talent shows is set to get underway at 4:30 p.m. in the Picnic Shelter and tonight's grandstand entertainment is the horse pull beginning at 7 p.m.
