Funds being collected to help with Scott Berg’s rehabilitation

An open house and alumni swim meet will be held Sunday to honor Scott Berg. Event runs from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Chaska (Minn.) Community Center. Proceeds will be used to purchase special equipment for Berg’s rehabilitation.

Berg graduated in 1971 and managed the Colvill Pool from 1971 through the early 1980s.

He suffered a severe and debilitating stroke in April of 2007 and has been re-learning basic motor skills like walking and talking.

He has been a physical education teacher at Chaska Middle School for the past 30 years.
