PRESCOTT - The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is no longer looking for volunteers for the search tonight.
Officers were not planning to use civilian volunteers for nighttime searches but were to continue to search through the night.
Persons willing to volunteer for the search on July 4 are asked to come to the Prescott High School, 1220 St. Croix St., Prescott, at 8 am. Officials suggest volunteers wear long pants, tennis shoes and bring bug spray and water. There will be shuttles leaving throughout the day to take volunteers to the search area.
Those interested in volunteering may report to the staging area. There is no need to call the sheriff’s office. If Scott is found, authorities will make that information immediately available to the media.
The Sheriff’s Department is also being assisted on scene by the Minnesota State Patrol Flight Wing, Wisconsin DNR, Ellsworth Fire Department, Ellsworth Ambulance, Prescott Fire, Prescott Ambulance, Prescott Police, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Schafer Franconia Fire, Minnesota Search and Rescue, Spring Valley Ambulance, Elmwood Ambulance, River Falls Fire, River Falls Ambulance.
